Why did the security architect for Windows NT choose exactly those keys?
Why, in the holy name of backwards compatibility of course!
That is one of the weirdest things I've ever heard - it beats the "put the disk in the trashcan to eject it" of Mac OS and the "click the Start-button to shutdown" by a couple of boat lengths, at least.
To avoid spam many websites make you fill out a CAPTCHA, or log in via an account at a corporation such as Twitter, Facebook, Google or even Microsoft GitHub.
I have chosen to use a more old school method of spam prevention.
