Denmark 100% energy independent

An op-ed piece in The New York Times by Thomas L. Friedman tells the story of how great Denmark is when it comes to energy. He is impressed by the bicycles and the 20% wind-energy.

Interestingly Connie Hedegaard, minister of climate and energy, and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, prime minister, happily take credit for the changes, even though all they have done is to tear down the good things built up previously - like reducing the ministry of the environment to a third. Great.

The president of Vestas notices that in the last year and a half, the competition in the wind turbine business has increased by 35 new competitiors from China and none from the USA.
