Tools or assistants?
Dan Bricklin, who is famous for VisiCalc (nobody mentions his name without mentioning VisiCalc. Oops, me neither), makes some good points in his two essays on tools in favour of assistants.
People build radio-controlled submarines. And other kinds of radio-controlled boats. Of course they do. How cool is that?
I once craved an all-terrain radio-controlled car. Lucky I didn't get one. It would have been sitting in the closet with the almost never used PlayStation...
