Google has posted a timeline for the first 20 years of Usenet. Interesting is the coincidence that an Amiga 1000 turned up in the garbage for me to pick up; august 1984, first mention of the Commodore Amiga.

To avoid spam many websites make you fill out a CAPTCHA, or log in via an account at a corporation such as Twitter, Facebook, Google or even Microsoft GitHub.

I have chosen to use a more old school method of spam prevention.
